Heresite Coating

Heresite Coating

Heresite provides high-performance protective coatings designed to reduce equipment damage, increased maintenance costs, downtime, and reduced energy efficiency caused by corrosion in HVAC-R systems.

Since first applying an anti-corrosion coating to HVAC coils in 1964, we have continued to develop coating technologies that withstand a variety of corrosive substances, including salt, acid rain, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and chlorine. Heresite coatings feature low heat loss, excellent flexibility and durability, and can withstand temperatures ranging from sub-zero to approximately 204°C, as well as thermal shock.

Key application areas include marine environments, wastewater treatment, swimming pools, food processing, mining, oil and gas, semiconductors, pulp and paper, textiles, agriculture, transportation, and highly contaminated industrial environments. Applying the appropriate Heresite coating can extend the service life of HVAC-R equipment, reduce maintenance costs and energy loss, and improve operational efficiency.

Heresite Business Areas 01
P-413 Phenolic Epoxy

Heresite P-413 is a high-performance, thin-film thermosetting phenolic epoxy coating designed for use on HVAC-R coils, radiators, and air and smoke handling equipment. It meets the ISO 12944-9 standard and offers excellent resistance to marine and saline environments, as well as various corrosive chemicals, vapors, and condensate. With its thin film, it effectively extends the service life of equipment while keeping heat transfer losses below 1%.

Applications
  • Heat Exchanger(finned tube, radiators, charge air coolers)

  • HVAC-R Coil(finned tube and microchannel)

  • Smoke Control Equipment

Applicable Environments
  • Marine/Alkaline Environments

  • Wastewater/Sewage Treatment Plants

  • Chemical and Oil Refining Processes

  • Swimming Pools

Sample Test Data
  • Repeated Weathering Tests : ISO 12944-9/ISO 20340 : No external damage to the coating layer (with or without a UV topcoat) even after 4,200 hours (25 cycles) of alternating salt spray, UV irradiation, and temperature shock. Static Salt Spray Test: ASTM B-117: 30,000 hours

  • Static Salt Spray Test : ASTM B-117: 30,000 hours or more

  • Flex Test : ASTM-D522: Exceeds 1/4 inch

  • Adhesion 5B - Suitable for use on copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and hot-dip galvanized surfaces

  • Impact on thermal efficiency : Less than 1%

  • Food contact : Meets FDA 175.300 standards for indirect food contact and has obtained NSF certification and ANSI 51 certification for coatings in food contact zones.

P-403L Phenolic

Heresite P-403L is a high-strength phenolic resin coating used for the storage and transportation of chemicals in railcars, ISO tanks, and storage tanks. It is suitable for acidic environments with a pH below 9 and offers excellent resistance to solvents, acids, and salts. It can also be applied in environments containing sulfuric acid at concentrations of 70–98% at temperatures up to 49°C.

Applications
  • Rail Vehicles

  • ISO/Storage Tank

Applicable Environments
  • pH < 9: acidic environment

  • Environment with 70–98% sulfuric acid

UC-5500

Heresite UC-5500 is a two-component protective coating developed for use as a topcoat over existing Heresite coatings, featuring a high-gloss finish. It offers excellent UV resistance and weather resistance, as well as superior flexibility and abrasion resistance. It is primarily applied by spraying to the exterior surfaces of process equipment, transport containers, tanks, and structural steel.

Applications
  • Topcoat for Other Herschelite Coatings

Sample Test Data
  • Corrosion resistance : ASTM B117-94: No surface blistering or rust after 1,500 hours; scratch creep of 0–0.25 mm

  • Bending Test : No cracks or delamination occur in the film after full curing

  • Pencil Hardness : ASTM-D3363-74: 2B-HB

Heresite Business Areas 04
VR-554T

Ideal for small-scale “repair” jobs such as soldered joints, pin-tube coil repairs, fans, ducts, copper piping, and other maintenance projects

Sample Test Data
  • Salt Spray Test : ASTM B-117: Passed the 2,000-hour test when used as a primer-topcoat. Passed the 3,000-hour test when applied as a topcoat over the UC-5500 series.

  • Bending Test : ASTM-D522: 1/2-inch mandrel test

  • Thermal conductivity : Less than 1% when using finned tube coils

  • Food Contact : Complies with FDA Regulation 175.300 regarding indirect food contact.
